About this property

Welcome to East West Hotel

East West Hotel is a modestly appointed property dating back to the 1920s, offering rooms with practical amenities such as minifridges, free Wi-Fi, and complimentary parking. Guests will find the rooms to be clean and straightforward, with some recent renovations enhancing the original architectural details like exposed brick walls and classic flooring. Although the hotel does not feature a pool, fitness center, or pet-friendly options, it maintains a smoke-free environment and is air-conditioned for comfort.

Situated in the heart of Koreatown, the hotel benefits from a lively neighborhood known for its variety of Korean BBQ restaurants, karaoke bars, and proximity to cultural venues such as the Wiltern Theatre. Its location provides easy access to notable attractions including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Griffith Observatory, and Walt Disney Concert Hall, all popular with visitors interested in arts and entertainment.

The property receives mixed reviews, with many guests appreciating the attentive and friendly staff as well as the cleanliness and security of the rooms. Some note that space can be tight, particularly in bathrooms, and that certain rooms lack some expected conveniences like microwaves. Ongoing renovations suggest improvements are underway to enhance guest experience without losing the hotel's historic character.

Its close proximity to several airports and other hotels makes it a convenient choice for visitors seeking straightforward lodging in a vibrant part of Los Angeles.

I never write reviews but I stayed here for like a week and a half and I thought I should share my experience. They are renovating rooms and I stayed in the one of the King renovated rooms. There was no fridge or microwave which was kind of a bummer but it’s fine if you don’t mind eating out. They also have a cafe attached to the hotel and it’s really nice the chef won #1 in a competition between 100 other chefs for his chicken sandwich so I recommend to order it cause it’s GOOD! Adam (one of the bartenders) is so sweet and made me really good french vanilla iced lattes. The hotel includes parking which is amazing because here in the city it’s such a hastle. Armando works valet parking at night and he is such a sweetheart so was Christopher (who works front desk). Henry (the manager) makes you feel like you’re his #1 guest. The staff here is just remarkable!! The newly remodeled bathrooms are also beautiful and very clean. I would definitely recommend staying here!!

I think by the time I post this, East West hotel will be the "H Hotel". They were just finishing construction on a refurbished or remodeled 1926, 52 room property. They've taken a lot of time and effort to keep the original grandeur and architectural details throughout. This includes brick exposed walls, original staircase, chandelier and flooring. The staff was very accommodating and the lobby sits in-between the foyer and a great Cafe on the other side. It's a full bar cafe with great food, exciting atmosphere, and was busy throughout the afternoon and evening. The word is out about the H Hotel. The rooms were a little different. I saw two or three of them and they all are pretty standard with big screens, mini fridges and a decent bed. My jury is still out on their choice for the bathrooms. There's no walls that separate the room from the bathroom. It's a thick piece of fogged glass that when lit just right, you can see the shadowing of the bodies inside. Dare I say it's semi-translucent! Now for a Couple's retreat this might be really fun. Unfortunately for me and I was sharing a room on a business trip with my 6 ft 5, 280 lb buddy. The commode was right on the other side of the glass and I really didn't need to ever have that view. Lord help me. Yikes! The good news is we got this room for $69. Hello, we on 8th Street in K Town. I consider this to be one of the best deals in Los Angeles, so keep that in mind. I didn't notice any room service, nor did I see a gym or valet. Enjoy If you like my reviews like many of you have, click like, and follow.

We had a super clean and cozy room here when both my husband and I stayed for an event we had for three days. Definitely will be staying at this hotel again as soon as we visit Los Angeles again. It's in the middle of Ktown which is perfect for both our family and friends to visit us when we are in town. The room has clean towels daily, a comfortable bed, a secured room and a gorgeous view! Plus their customer service was top notch!

It was last minute I booked the hotel. Paid about $89 on a Thursday night. Our nonsmoking standard queen bedroom was very clean. It was supposed to be city view. But it wasn’t city view. I was okay with that, as I didn’t care about the view. But very small room and bathroom! I’ll not recommend this room to any big person. Have free self-parking. Decoration of the Reception is nice and people are helpful too. The hotel itself is quite old and small. My overall experience was good.

No pool. No restaurant. But the best employees who work hard. Older hotel being completely revamped. Stay on the WEST side. Just a great place that's clean, good maid service during the week. Front desk is extremely helpful in many ways... Places to eat, directions, know the local area. I'll go back. Prices are completely fair

Staff is friendly and accommodating. Entry and lobby is really nice. The rooms need some work. Ours was very crowded with 2 beds. The beds were very hard and the bathroom is quite tight. They're remodeling so those things should improve. The price is great.

Stay is super cool especially the cute girl with the dress that works the front. Hotel has a real old time American horror story red rum feel to it. Flat panels with digital cable in each room, super hot water and good pressure in the shower with a deep tub for baths. Fire escape excellent for chilling on, having a beer, a slice of pizza and taking it all in. I had a great time here and it was cheap.

Staff is fantastic and attentive. The new rooms are designed really chic. They were able to preserve the exposed brick walls. The rooms are out of HGTV. They remember you when you come back for another stay. I'll come back again
